Located within the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, the Spindrift Golf Course offers a scenic and challenging layout for players of all levels. Carved out of the beautiful coastal terrain of La Jolla, the 9-hole, Par-3 course is ideal for new golfers to learn the sport and for seasoned golfers to work on their short game and shoot under par.
The beautiful course features 1,362 yards of golf from the longest tees, with short holes that range from 57 to 84 yards, tree-lined fairways, small, slanted greens, and sand bunkers so you get great practice with your wedges and putter. The private course also features putting and practice areas and a pro shop open to hotel guests and members.
Sign-ups are now open for our summer junior golf camps! Offered Monday through Thursday during select weeks, kids will have the opportunity to learn from our Golf Professional, Jacqui McSorley.
Jacqui earned her Japanese Tour card in 1986 before transitioning to the LPGA Tour for 7 years. She then dedicated herself to family but remained active in golf, writing articles and a book on the sport. She coached high school teams, notably pioneering Girls High School Golf in San Diego in 2000. In 2010, she founded the Women’s golf program at Point Loma Nazarene University. Jacqui received coaching accolades and directed an LPGA USGA Girls Golf site since 2001. She also instructed at the Golf Academy of America.
Club Members and hotel guests enjoy our putting green, practice area, and driving nets with their green fee for the entire day. Check in at the Golf Shop prior to play and show a valid Member Card or Hotel Key Card. Remember, golfers under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Junior golf lessons are open to ages 4 and older for all skill levels. Lessons cover many aspects of golf including putting, chipping, pitching, sand shots, full swing, course management, rules, etiquette, and club fitting.

Half Sessions
9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Ages 6 to 12
Designated Pee Wee Session
Ages 4 to 6
Each day introducing basic Putting, Chipping and Full Swing Fundamentals. Lots of skill
checks and fun games with both Birdie Balls and Golf Balls. Covering simple Rules,
Etiquette and Safety.
Full Sessions
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Ages 6 to 12
Each day introducing Putting, Chipping, Bunker and Full Swing techniques
and fundamentals. Practicing and then applying skills to games and contests. Snack break
each day and Thursday is a “championship” play day on the course with a mini competition
and prizes! Learning Rules, Etiquette, Safety and Golf Vocabulary.
Afternoon Intro To Golf Sessions
2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Ages 6 to 12 or 13 to 17
Taking skills from the practice areas out onto the course! Golfers with a little more
exposure to the game and are learning to “play the game”, keep score and comfortable with
Rules, Etiquette and Safety. If there are not any “experienced” golfers registered, this
session can also be changed to an “Intro to Golf” 2-hour session with some fun course time
games.
