Hawk
Experience the anticipation and thrill, as a trained bird of prey—with wings spread and talons extended—swoops toward you and gently lands on your outstretched hand.

At the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, every Saturday from 3-4 p.m. in the fountain courtyard, you'll learn the history and basic techniques of falconry, as well as the important role that raptors play in maintaining balance in our natural environment.  This will be a rare chance to interact with Floyd, our resident hawk plus meet 3 of the other birds of prey: an adult hawk, juvenile hawk and a Saker falcon.

Get to know our birds as Roxanne guides you in the proper way to hold a raptor, cast it from your glove, and then call it back again. The experience will include short flights, feeding interactions plus Q&A after the presentation. You'll also get the opportunity to have your picture taken with one of these majestic birds, so bring your camera. This hour-long experience to engage with these amazing birds of prey is $150 per person. Space is limited so sign up now at the front desk or call x2600.
