Clean & Safe Commitment

The health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority as we welcome guests to La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.  We are following all County of San Diego and state of California protocols for reopening. 

We are committed to cleanliness and providing a safe environment for you and your family. We've implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols, including a Clean & Safe certification from the California Hotel and Lodging Association.

Clean & Safe Protocols

We have increased our cleaning frequency and attention in high-touch public areas, including:
  • Door knobs and handles
  • Surfaces at the Front Desk, Tennis Shop, and Guest Laundry Room
  • Pool and Fitness Center equipment
  • Business Center desk, computer keyboard and mouse
  • Restroom surfaces
  • Club Dining hostess stand, bar, dining tables, chairs and menus
  • Beach valet carts
  • Property water coolers

Before You Arrive

  • In Guest Rooms

    • We use anti-bacterial/viral cleaners and hospital-grade electrostatic sprayer to allow for touch-less disinfection. 
    • Our Housekeeping staff is well trained in cleaning and sanitizing the rooms after each use and has increased attention on hard surfaces including: counter tops, glass and floors. 
    • To increase ventilation in the rooms, our staff is trained to clean rooms with open doors and windows.
    • As a safety protocol for guests and employees, rooms will be serviced by housekeepers prior to the guest's arrival. 
    • Housekeeping items such linens, bath products and cleaning supplies are available upon request as needed.
  • Arrivals & Departures

    • Each guest shall enter the hotel through our Ambassador Booth and will be screened for temperature.
    • Any guest with a temperature of 100.0 degrees or more may not enter the property.
    • At check-in, guests will utilize a credit card outlet to minimize contact. 
    • Room keys will be sanitized using CDC approved disinfectant.
    • At this time, the Club will only be welcoming registered hotel guests and members. Guest Passes for visitors are temporarily unavailable.
    • Review our Amenities as some experiences have been modified to comply with county health regulations.
  • Dining

    The Club Dining Room is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Patio dining and take-out are available. For everyone's safety, new dining guidelines are in place and must be followed while in the dining area.


    • As of September 1, 2020 our indoor dining areas will be open at 25% capacity.
    • Dining tables have been socially distanced six-feet.
    • All party members must be present to be seated.
    • Masks are required until seated and beverage service is initiated; and again when the check is requested.
    • Masks must also be worn if leaving the table for any reason.
    • Party size is limited to eight persons (upon availability). Large party seating is limited.
    • Reservations are required and can be made by calling 858.551.4668.
    • Footwear and cover-ups/shirts are required at all times on the Club Dining patio.
    • Use of cell phones in dining areas is prohibited.
    • Single-use and digital menus are available, you may also view our Dining menu online.

    Most La Jolla restaurants are open for patio dining, with strict cleaning and social distance protocols. Our private Club dining room is open for patio seating with reservations. Oceanfront patio dining is also available at the Shores Restaurant down the beach, serving fresh seafood and a California coastal menu.

  • How can I travel safer during Covid-19 pandemic?

    If you've planned a vacation during the covid-19 pandemic, here are some tips from the CDC to keep you safe and healthy. 
    1. Drive if you can and avoid public transportation and flying. If you have to fly, wear your mask and social distance at the security lines and when boarding the plane.
    2. Pack and wear a face mask when in crowds and public spaces. Wear your mask properly covering your mouth and nose.
    3. Avoid crowded areas and stay 6 feet away from others 
    4. Avoid touching public surfaces, wash your hands frequently, and use sanitizer.
