La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club Policies

We look forward to having you stay with us at The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, a private Member and Guest property. We ask all Guests to please keep in mind the Club Policies listed below.

Arrivals & Departures

  • At check-in, guests will utilize a credit card outlet to minimize contact. In addition, all room keys will be sanitized using CDC approved disinfectant.
  • Currently: Members may bring up to four (4) guests per day, per membership.
  • Effective Friday, June 18: Members may bring up to ten (10) guests per membership, per day.
  • Family Passes: Available to immediate family and valid for seven consecutive days: $150 each
  • Daily Fees: $20 per Member Guests, per person, per day.

Beach

  • Our private beach is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Swimming, kayaking, and surfing are permitted by the county in designated sections of the beach.
  • Alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are permitted on the private beach.
  • Please note that all California State Alcohol Beverage Control laws are enforced at all times.
  • Amplified music is not allowed on the beach.
  • Swimmers use the beach at their own risk. The Club does not provide lifeguards and is not responsible for injuries incurred while using the beach.
  • The Club is not responsible or liable for articles collected, damaged, lost or stolen.
  • Due to the family nature of our private Club, please refrain from wearing overly revealing swimwear.

Beach Equipment

  • Beach Equipment will be available daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Please check in with Beach Services staff located in the north, middle, and south areas of the beach to register for your chair and beach set up. 
  • Lounge chairs, umbrellas and side tables will be available on a first come, first served basis and you must have your Member ID ready and be present to check out beach equipment. 
  • Equipment is sanitized between each use and clean equipment is kept in stacks. Our Beach Team will set up equipment upon request to ensure it is kept clean before use.
  • Upon registration the Beach Attendant will clip a red flag to beach chairs. 
  • Please ensure inflatable rafts are kept off of the Esplanade so other guests may pass.
  • Smoking is not permitted on the beach or in any area of The Club.

Beach Barbeques

  • Back to full capacity for BBQ reservations. 
  • Equipment per reserved spot is limited to 1 table, 10 chairs, and 1 barbeque max per party.
  • Beach party locations are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate and happily accept requests. 
  • Barbeques will be set-up on the beach and may be lit at 5 p.m. (4 p.m. after daylight savings)
  • Personal barbeques and fire pits are not permitted.
  • Cancellations, no-shows, and cancellations due to weather related issues are subject to late fee or full charge after 12:00 p.m. day of the reservation. 
  • Food and beverage is available by placing a take-out order with Club Dining, either through the member app, by calling 858.551.4668, or by visiting the hostess. 
  • Our Sunset Beach Barbeque Shopping List is also available by placing your orders 24-hours in advance. 
  • Community Grills: One (1) will be available every weekday starting June 15 through Labor Day weekend, and two (2) community grills will be available on weekends. 

Dining

  • The private Club Dining Room is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the bar is open until 9 p.m.
  • All party members must be present to be seated.
  • You may place your order on the app, at the hostess stand, or call ahead at 858.551.4668.
  • Footwear and cover-ups/shirts are required at all times on the Club Dining patio.
  • Use of cell phones in dining areas is prohibited.
  • Single-use and digital menus are available, you may also view our Dining menu online.
  • We are licensed to sell bottles of beer and wine to-go.
  • 10% dining discount will be honored for orders. 

Pool

The pool is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the following activities:

 

6:00 - 10:00 a.m. Adult Only Lap Swimming 
Partially laned. Reservations can be made through Court Reserve App.
Reservations will be for 30-minute increments so that we may accommodate as many as possible

6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Free play / All-swim
West side of pool, No reservations required.

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Free play / All-swim
Entire pool, No reservations required.  

12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Adult Only Lap Swimming
All lanes, No reservations. First come, first served   

1:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Free play / All-swim
Entire pool, No reservations required.

New Hours 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Adult Only Lap Swimming
Partially laned. Reservations can be made through Court Reserve App.

  • Reservations can be made on the CourtReserve app, through the Front Desk, Pool Attendant or Beach Services office.
  • Swimmers use the pool at their own risk. The Club does not provide lifeguards and is not responsible for injuries to anyone using the pool.
  • Children under 12 years of age must be under the supervision of an adult.
  • Baby flotation devices are permitted. Rubber rafts, balls and other water toys are not allowed.
  • Babies must wear disposable swim diapers—available for purchase at the Tennis Shop.
  • Due to the family nature of our private Club, please refrain from wearing overly revealing swimwear.

Tennis

  • Our 12 championship tennis courts are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Tennis courts are open for singles use and doubles play and must be reserved through the CourtReserve app.
  • No court fees apply.
  • Please adhere to the posted dress code.
  • All guests must wear shoes with non-marking soles.
  • Private and Group Lessons are available.

Golf

  • Golfers use the course at their own risk and are responsible for damages or injuries from the flight of their golf ball.
  • Golf fees will be charged to your guest room and are $7.50 for adults (ages 13 and up) and $6 for children (ages 6-12).
  • Golf Clubs for use on the course are available in the bin near the pro shop.

Fitness Center

  • Proper fitness attire and exercise shoes must be worn while using the equipment.
  • Face masks and appointments are not required.
  • Yoga is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Walnut Lounge from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. $12 per person. 
  • Register for class at the front desk.
  • Please bring your own yoga mat, towel, and water. 

Children's Playground

  • The Playground is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to sunset. 

Around The Club

  • Property quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • As a safety precaution, use of skateboards, roller skates/blades, wheelies, segways, hover boards and scooters is prohibited in all areas.
  • Bicycles are permitted around the Duck Pond and may be stored in the bike rack adjacent to Tennis Court 6.
  • Bocce ball court is open daily on a first-come, first-served basis. No court fees apply. 
  • To help make everyone's outdoor experience as pleasant as possible, please do not feed the birds.
  • Children 12 and under must be in the direct company of a supervising adult in all Club areas.

Drones

  • Use of drones is prohibited in all Club areas.

Pets

  • For the convenience of other guests, and in an effort to provide the cleanest accommodations available, pets are not permitted at the Club.
  • Front Desk staff will help you make alternate plans for your pet.

Smoking

  • La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is a smoke-free property. Smoking is not permitted in guest rooms or on our grounds, including the beach.

Parking

  • When entering the Club, please stop and identify yourself, as well as your guests, to the Guest Booth ambassador.
  • The Club disclaims any responsibility to protect against the loss of or damage to vehicles or their contents.
