It’s impossible to reflect on the history of tennis at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club without celebrating Bob and Mike Bryan. On the occasion of their retirement, Club President William J. Kellogg shared the following tribute:
“The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club extends heartfelt congratulations to Bob and Mike Bryan for their unparalleled record as a doubles team and the incredible impact they’ve made on the sport. From their Davis Cup triumphs to Olympic Gold and Grand Slam victories, their achievements are legendary. We’re especially proud they competed here in the Pacific Coast Doubles, the Father/Son National Hard Courts, and the historic 2006 Davis Cup held on a court built on our golf course. Years later, their foundation brought over 200 kids to watch the Davis Cup at Petco Park. They truly are a dynamic duo.”
