With La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club since: 1999
Nelson joined the LJBTC staff in 1999. He is now working in private, semi-private and group lessons with juniors or adults to assist them in their efforts toward their short and long-term goals. Nelson is passionate about helping students improve their tennis game, as well as every aspect of their athletic lives. Success comes from training and hours of repetitions focusing on long-term development, rather than simply winning in the short-term. Competitive students receive a periodization schedule to peak perform at selected times. "There is no short-cut to success in athletic preparation. Rushing training will always result in shortcomings, in physical, technical, tactical and mental abilities. I strongly believe in, and work with, the USTA model for Development of a High Performance Player."
